Exclamation Lucas semi sealed headlamps

Hi guys, has anyone tried re doing the chrome reflector on a semi sealed lucas headlamp.
You know,by removing the glued on lens with out breaking it and repairing the rusty reflector for new chrome? interested in hearing your comments as the lucas semi sealed H/L are unobtainable here in NZ new.
You can get 6volt sealed beam H/Lamps,but are expensive.
I dont have any original Ford reflectors or lens, and my truck is fitted with semi sealed lamps that are rusting on the reflectors.

What about halogens? I believe 6 volt H4 bulbs are available. Can you buy the semi seal headlamps for them? I have one here.

Over here we can get Silver spray paint that dries like chrome, not the dull, aluminium look of other Silver paints. Steel wool to clean the old reflector up and a quick squirt.

Default Silver foil

Another good trick that works is that cooking foil supermarkets sell . Glue it on the reflector as evenly as you can with minimal wrinkles . It works great but with higher wattage globes there might be a heat problem with it . Use heat resistant glue and it will work a treat
