Here is another colour photo of an RAF Bedford QL bowser I saw on the web.
Interestingly the roundal on the side of the Bedford has what appears to be its red circle in the roundal changed to a red star. At first I thought this was to do with it belonging to an Yugoslavian unit - but just like some tanks I have seen with a hammer and sickle i think it is the ground crew showing off their left wing political beliefs as many did in 1945. The Spitfire is a late mark with late versions of the wing roundals. In early 1945 they had a white ring added to the red/ blue wing roundal but immediate post war some Sqns changed the white to yellow.
