I got that book last year directly from Theo. Very well made, beautiful pics, a good selection of vehicles. However, the descriptions are sometimes not very accurate in the CMP-Section. Anyway, still a good and unusual addition to your library.

I agree.....I have both volume one and two and they are very nice indeed for anyone interested in military vehicles in post-war use. In fact they bring back the memory of Wheels and Tracks magazine!
Lots of CMP's and Commonwealth trucks in volume one, but also some in volume two. Even though the descriptions are not always accurate as Chris mentioned earlier, the pictures make up for that!

Fine, your comments are not to be ignored, but...
We as photographers were first of all overwhelmed by the looks of these machines. We are always interested in classical transport. But, less is more, these trucks are so impressive as pure functional objects, we could not ignore them. Lateron we discovered the observer books from Bart H. Vanderveen (also a Dutchman), and everything fell into place. By the way: watch out for volume three, to appear in september, practically devoted only to Allied machines...

Here is one already. Of many CMP's (cab 13) the tilted windshield was tilted the other way to give the driver more room. Here is one of them, neatly adapted for its new role

Hi Chris.

You mentioned some descriptions of the CMP vehicles are not accurate. Please let us know what you found. Just in case if we consider a reprint
