Dead spot on starting

Stephen have you checked out the armature winding to see if the is a dead zone in it .

use a shunt tester to do the job

I know a good electrician near Maidstone who overhauls my starters and dynamos, etc. He does a lot of work on old vehicles. If you want his name send me a PM.
