Default wrecking at the end of Laverne airstrip late fifties
well as something to look at until the spits turn up . That's Laverton ....Gordons Yard. He wrecked the one and only Hurricane that came to Australia a photo of which I have in this series.

When I was doing my flying training at Point Cook in 1967 there were 4 Wirraways and 2 P-40's in the fire pit for the firies to practice on. The P-40's must have come from the Laverton group.

Great Photo. I know me and a lot of my old Army buddies would have loved to dig up a cache of "Sealed" Spitfire bottles, bugger the planes, party time.

Oh well, back to the old drawing board, It was I suppose just an eccentric man's dream. We all thought of the dig with a "tongue in cheek" attitude we will now have to find another project to keep the thread going as this one dies.
