Lionel, You can buy a 3.5 ton trolley jack that is reasonably small. They have a reasonable lift,and good enough to lift one end of your vehicle or a corner.
You need to buy jack stands at the same time, and use them.
The bottle jack needs to be capable of lifting a loaded vehicle. I'd look for one that has a decent top on it, so that safely catches the axle, and with a decent base for stability. I would also recommend a decent sized block of wood for under it.
