Is this close to what you are looking for?
This is from Ebay. It is for a Jeep. This one, I would say is not quite correct, however it claims to be. Originally I think they were a std Ford item that became the U.S. quartermaster stores item. They were on Jeeps, Dodges, and were modified to the Australian LP2 Carriers. (two were welded together with a bolt on lid, for the carrier) I suspect they were the same on the CMPs if not at home in Canada and Europe, at least in Australasia. As I recall, the originals I have seen had a gap in the corners, and the four pieces at the corners were folded down, and welded at the lower edges. I wait to see if others agree.

Hi Lynne, Thanks for posting the image. That isn't what dad is looking for. He has the hold down bracket, but there is a cover that goes over the battery assembly.

These are all original components.
Nor sure whether I have measurements.

Keith, that is the hold down frame (as opposed to a "cover") that I was referring to.
The value of a picture!!!

Yes, there are three components there, the hold down cradle, frame and cover, evident in the middle picture.

Well done Keith, I never expected to see an original battery cover in captivity! I reckon they'd be the very first item on a blitz to be discarded. With this image we can take accurate measurements off the box itself and the distance between posts. Looks like the top plate is heavier gauge, which would explain why it's two piece construction. This is the Macs repro hold down frame, good value at $12.45 and looks the part. 51A-10718_pJPG Macs Part no. 51A-10718 .45.JPG

The cover not only looks correct, it is correct, for a Ford CMP.
