The solid state units are good, just remember though that they are electronic.
I was chasing electrical gremlins on my Cdn3 for a while until I narrowed it down to the turn lever assy. I took it apart and the board looked ok. I replaced the assembly with a NOS one from the US and all my troubles with the signals disappeared.
