Hi Andy
Felt vs Leather for Ball Seals, years ago when unable to find felt of same density as what was used originally went over to using leather. Back 1978 I got a lifetime supply of thick leather cut to the dimensions of the felt at company that made heavy leather drive belts. (The have long since gone out of business.) But I suspect that the same type of seat leather can be had from saddle and tack makers or even cobblers. The leather seems to hold up very well seals in the oil and seals out the dirt and water. Cheers Phil
