Rick if you blow the pictures up to 250% the steering box looks like ford, the horn is in the ford location, the piece of engine cover that the gear stick is passing through looks like ford and the clips that locate the dog house on the vertical strut from floor to dash are bolted on like ford, Chevs were spot welded.

Those first two trucks came from Kerr Industries in Oshawa. They both came from the GM factory during the war and never saw military service. Brian Gough and I did a little research on them many moons ago. I think I first started my quest to buy them in the late 60's. Over the years I sold them a lot of parts to keep them going and of course Kerr did many mods to keep from having to buy parts from me. Brian has a better memory than I so perhaps he can add more.
Kerr Industries was a fleet contractor for GM and outfitted all the GM police cruisers, telephone, postal, hydro etc. fleets. The Canadian CUCV's all went through Kerr. It was fun driving past there and seeing that sea of green Chevy trucks. I maintained a truck fleet for Canadian National Railways and a couple of construction companies so Kerr was the "go to" place for u joints, PTO and winch parts. Barry

"They both came FROM the GM factory during the war"
Just to clarify this I did say FROM GM, not that they were GM assembled. Barry
