I won't comment on the price, but it certainly seems to be a very good and original example of the breed. As it came from the UK originally, it must be one of the unused & still crated Carriers which were disposed of to the public many decades ago.

That second model Windsor carrier is listed in the key cards held at Bovington. The Bovington record shows the original WD number from 1945 service, plus the subsequent change in WD number to the post war format. The carrier remained in British service until sold by Ruddington in 1957. It was in the Belgian museum before being sold and shipped to the museum in Indiana, USA. The original paint is sitting under the current top coat.

Still has the original engine and data plate!

Anybody know what the final result was? I assume somebody on here put in at least one bid? Sellers sometimes contact highest bidder to see if they can negotiate..... Reserve must have been very high.....

Reserve was not met, it is now advertised on MilWeb: http://www.milweb.net/webvert/76767

Does the CWM have one in their collection? Hint, hint...

PS: here's another Windsor Carrier for sale in the UK, but this one is not as orginal as the one in Canada: http://www.milweb.net/webvert/76720
