Not quite right this time Cliff. It is certainly a GMH Chev built ute but 1941 or 1942.
The 1940 Chev had separate headlights mounted on top of the mudguards as well as the parking lights. The 1940 also had running boards which this one does not have. That Ute had the headlights in the guards and the horizontal parkers below the lights. This was introduced in 1941. Here is my 1940 Chev staff car for front end comparison. P3170181 (Small).JPG.
