Colin,
Thank you for the work tracking down those links. I collect WW2 British Army generators and its not a model I have ever encountered. I can't imagine we acquired many and there are equivalent British manufactured models which would do the same job. I doubt if they actually saw use in British Armoured Cars. |

They were used in tanks along with the Tiny Tim, though the Tiny Tim seems to have been more popular.

That explains a lot as I originally assumed it to be a Tiny Tim.
Quite where it was stored if indeed they were ever used on DAC is questionable. |

The tank (and presumably armoured car) version has a different setup to the one in the frame shown on the links above. No fuel tank on top, and a cover over it.
The attached diagram is from the Churchill workshop manual. Incidentally I'll be looking for one (or more likely a Tiny Tim) to go with the tank, so if you happen to stumble across a spare of either I'd appreciate a nudge ![]() Last edited by Lauren Child; 27-07-16 at 00:31. |
