there is a French based group on FB showing images from Life Mag photo Journos....all those images that never made it to print.

Burma
Ah Wingate's private army . With the hindsight we now have, many historians reckon the Chindits were a reflection of Wingate's giant ego. Wingate would contact Winnie and get anything he wanted. Hundreds of Allied soldiers died of disease in the jungle for what result.

This book:
Out of the Blue: A pilot with the Chindits O'Brien, Terence The author, an Australian, was Wingate's Air Liason officer - he writes with a scathing tone regarding Wingate's behaviour. I think the book is available as a e book download.
