Other than looking complicated, they do not offer any advantage over the conventional drop center rim. I just did a set of the normal ones yesterday and while the weight involved lifting them onto the tire machine is significant (hey, I was tired from the weekend), they are no more difficult to remove and install than a set of Honda civic tires.
