Nothing to do with the paintball site, but to do with 17 pounders and how the nomenclature might be (mis)interpreted. My wife's father was an avid fisherman (had a veteran's restricted commercial license as a WW II RCN veteran). Several years ago, as we drove past a Legion that had a 17 pounder on display, I commented "look at the 17 pounder." She didn't see the gun as she was looking for a fish. True. As the gunner's son, I only thought about "6 pdr", "17pdr" and "25pdr" pertaining to guns. ![]() |
