I'm a bit confused here Rob, the can you mentioned does have a CM prefix, not an MC. I can't find any MC prefixes in artillery parts lists, including British and Canadian Bofors.
Drinking water tanks and various stowage boxes in British cruiser tanks have MC prefixes.
