I believe the external geared one with the fold over spacer is Ford truck (commercial) They were issued with New Zealand built LP2 (Aust. pattern ) carriers, but were not up to the job. A couple of the ones in Hanno's photos are shown being used to lift a British carrier in a Brit. Carrier manual.

..... it was left behind by my Dad's brother when he came to our house back in 1946 or 47 to pullout the family car, a 39 DeSoto from the Winter shed..... it had a flat rear tire....shed was very cramped and my uncle used a jack from the WC51 he was driving ( he was still in the service)...... it got left behind......my Dad used it for years and I saved it not really knowing what it belong to..... sadly the little top piece was broken off years ago..... I still have the two piece folding crank to push it under the vehicle and crank it up. I think I will clean it up and carry it in the C15a.

I haven't posted on here for a while, my hobby focus has become a bit random...but a discussion on the dreaded facebook referred to Dreadnaught tools. I found a few in my AF odds-and-sods toolbox.
Not marked "Made in Canada". Simply "Molybdenum" on the reverse. They seem to be cad. plated. Are these wartime era / CMP / Carrier compatible or later ? They turned up in the UK. |
