The best part about retiring those Canadian Leopards, IMHO, is that the Netherlands decided to get rid of its Leopard 2s “because they are not useful in the kinds of wars we fight these days” — that is: in Afghanistan.* One of the main purchasers was Canada, which promptly sent them to Afghanistan …

* The actual reason for selling off the Leopard 2, of course, was, “We can save money by not having tanks.”
