The top bracket is for the MkI* carrier and it holds a metal tin which in turn holds boxes of .303 ammo. It is fixed at 45 degree angle bolted to mudguard and side armour in the rear compartment behind the driver about 12" back from the bulkhead. The tin is held in place by a leather strap and buckle which passes through the channel which can be seen in your photo. The other one I'm still scratching my head about! Nigel
