Dave, I apologize as i was not criticizing your choice; merely I was pointing out the ramifications of our consumer culture buying foreign made goods.
Les, of course I totally concur; at what point is it too late to "get back" into place what we had before.
With the ongoing export of jobs to foreign markets with cheap labour, no employment rights, yet no human rights, it is a wonder when this will happen.
I saw it with my own company. They had all kinds of foreigners working in our plant (apparently from other divisions) who were really keen on what we were doing. Of course they were! It was all an elaborate scheme to watch as we do and then steal it from under us.
At some point, all our skilled labour will be gone, either emmigrated elsewhere or retired from their propective trades and we will be left with nothing other than to collect welfare cheques and go shopping at Wal-Mart... :dh:
