Bearings and Rings finally arrive
After a lengthy wait I finally have the Bearing and Piston Rings.
Today (this evening) I fitted the rings and con rod bearings....tomorrow the Crank. I will be coating the bearings with vasoline. This will give them good lubrication during the first start up. I have used this in the past also to "prime" oil pumps. It is great because it "mixes" well with lube oil and does not harm the engine. Works well in transmissions also. The pistons will be liberally soaked in motor oil prior to and during installation. This will also happen tomorrow....
