The bonnet may have been replaced with a spare from a guntractor originally.

I think Cliff has hit the nail on the head. The other crucial picture (if you have it, Mark) is of the left-hand interior to see whether there was a 'glovebox' present.

They certainly managed to get their money worth out of the trucks in sawmills didn't they.
