@ Hanno; I recall that the Gemrans during WW2 had a narrowed version of their Kfz.15 (Horch) for the mountains --- due to the narrow roads.
Might be that the same idea was behind the narowing of that poor CMP. But what an effort... Maybe somebody could ask the ower of the truck. It is to be found at: Leutasch/Tirol im Ortsteil "Platzl" near Seefeld/Insbruck
