Cam Plate Rollers
Hi, I had my Cam plate down today to replace the bearings, The ones on the rollers are were pretty past there best, like most carriers these bearings never get lubricated.I Have purchased replacement sealed SKF ones off EBAY for about £5 each, I have replaced the centre pivot bearing no problem and put in a new set of push/pull rods. What I have noticed is that the cam plate shaft rollers the bearing sits in are pretty pitted from previous rust.
I am going to make some new rollers and am sure they would of been hardened. I am thinking of making a set out of stainless steel?, rather than machine steel then hardening them, any one made any before and suggestions for hardening appreciated please or thoughts on a suitable material to use. Kev.
