Hi
I have a part number that I can't find in any of the carrier parts books I have. If any of you have TL13992 listed could you tell me it's specific purpose please? I suspect it may be a British part for a specific carrier version...... Perhaps 3" mortar. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks Ben |

Hi Jordan
I know what the part is, it's part of the instrument panel. The "problem" is that I don't have a reference to it in a parts book, it's a non standard layout so I was trying to establish why. I had hoped that the number would be referenced in a version of the parts book that I don't have. I'll post a picture later but I don't think it'll establish which carrier type it's from. Thanks Ben |

Ben, do you know anyone with a copy of Chilwell 63/76?
I think your part number is a mid to late war number just looking at the range of numbers covered in the books I have. I bought bits of 63/76 (you sent them to me) but don't have the part numbers, just some of the illustrations.

Not there - I have checked pages relative to the instrument panel in 63/76.

63/76 has nothing. Universal
63/71 has nothing. Loyd I checked all sections at least at the part number listing at the start of each section. It could have been missed in the books, there are errors.

TL 13992 is fairly high as TL numbers go, which make me think it is a part number issued to a product improvement item. (production modification)

Lynn.
That's right, I found TL13997 while looking yesterday, it was a variation of a dust cover / seal. My copy of 63/71 has revisions & corrections up to 1950!

Here are the pictures, sorry for the delay.
As you can see it's a carrier instrument panel plate. I was curious as to why there'd be no toggle switches and why the two pin Jack moves from the other face to replace the switches. I thought if it was mentioned then the parts book might offer some clues. |

That is the same as my AOP MkIIIw dash. The main panel doesn't have the drop down bit with the temp guage as it was shifted around to the corner to face the driver.
Ben, you had a line drawing of it a few years back.

I'm familiar with the Later type with no drop down for the gauge. All the ones I've seen didn't have this layout.
Are we saying its 100% AOP mk3w then? Problem solved? |
