The Wading manual (1943) contains direction with respect to the oiling of the felt seating pads used with the fuel tanks.

Excellent find Michael! I was just thinking of doing that before installing tanks to prevent rust, now it has proof from the HQ!

You can oil the track from your supply of used motor oil too . . .

Wouldn't there be something better? More permanent? Pitch or tar sounds good to me but would become a problem when removing the tank (the pads would be stuck to the tank, making a problem of extraction and insertion)
Any suggestions?
