Hi John, I can't help. The number misses a Brit contract number and is too low for anything listed in Nigel Watson's book, from Canada.
More info would help. Is it British or Canadian? Where is the number you have located on the carrier. Is it on a plate riveted to the right front guard? (British)
Is it stamped in the top of the drivers front protection plate?, or is it stamped into the angle iron that joins the left track guard to the rear upper armour? It could also be on an ali plate, fixed to the div. plate?
Photos help.

I am guessing its the lower hull number, and if its the hull I think it is, it's a Canadian Mk2.

Well mine is a 1944 Canadian MK2* and has a lower rear hull number lower than that.

It's 24130 and a bit more rubbing down at a later date revealed a small 'C'. The front (upper) hull number is 24198. As already mentioned, its located on the rail just behind the gunners seat. Ron
